Board Game Review
In many wargames, the designers dive into historical facts. Their aim to recreate those events is complimented with some possible what-if scenarios that alter the course of events. Yet, I long for another approach. I believe there’s value in using fiction as a background story for this kind of game.
For a while now, Maquis has been one of those titles which are often recommended by solo game enthusiasts. But it is now even more widely known after the successful Kickstarter campaign by Side Room Games in 2019, which brings the game to retail. With over 6000 backers, just what makes this game so enjoyable?
