Calling Fellow Boardgamers in Jakarta and Around
Don’t have any plans during the end of the month? Don’t have any buddies to accompany you either? Look no further than the Jakarta Tabletop Expo (JTE) 2019 where we’ll celebrate the togetherness of playing board games! This community based event is the second episode of its first success in JTE ‘18. Held in Mall at Alam Sutera from the 29th of November until the 1st of December 2019, this year’s event will focus on a slightly different topic. Last year the focus was to encourage the culture of tabletop gaming in general, naturally, as the first big bang. Now, they’re keeping up with the trends in the board game industry which is Role-Playing Game (RPG). To put in a nutshell, RPG is a game where players take roles as fictional characters controlled by narrators as the Game Master (GM).
A glimpse of JTE '18
The famous RPGs being held in this three-day event includes Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), Call of Cthulhu, Ryuutama : Natural Fantasy, and many more. Tournaments for board games and card games will also be held along with Play Days all throughout the event. They’re not stopping there though! After receiving much enthusiasm during the previous year, the Board Game Auction will be held again as one of the main events. There will be loads of board games available to be auctioned during the second and last day of the event. Another special addition is the Matchmaking Session where anyone who’s anyone in the board game industry can mingle and get to know each other. Board game creators, board game distributors, board game publishers, to board game media all are welcome! It’s also a good opportunity for you guys to try local board games prototype and enjoy the showcases. As the cherry to top all of the festivities, there will be a special Door Prize open to all visitors. So what are you waiting for? Register yourself now here.
See you and let’s play together!
I chose to build using cards and boards over bricks and stones. And dare I say, I regret nothing. Oh, I’m also fairly new to the board game world, so you might say I’m everyone’s best friend (for newcomers). Cheers to more ratchet GIFs and honest inner bubble thoughts + sound effects!
